Tony Perez blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Great Valley Stadium where the
Devault Dynamiters beat the Glenmoore Stableboys 8-5.
 
It seemed that Glenmoore pitching was serving up softballs for Perez to hit.
He doubled in the 1st inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run in
the 3rd inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 7th inning.  Devault
banged out 14 hits on the night.  
 
Tommy John(1-1) allowed 5 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Bruce Sutter earned the save, his 2nd.  Bob Owchinko(1-1) was tagged
with the loss.  He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 2/3 innings.  
 
'I just got in the box, looked for a pitch and swung,' Perez said.  'That's
it'

The Eagle Eagles toppled the Elverson Squires 6-2 at Hickory Park.
 
Randy Moffitt(1-1) was solid in relief, and he got credit for the win.  He
gave up just 3 hits and no walks in 3 innings and mowed down 4 Elverson
batters.  The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
The losing pitcher was Ed Halicki(0-2).  He gave up 8 hits and no walks in 7
and 1/3 innings.
 
LIONVILLE AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Right fielder Jerry Martin smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Lionville
team beat the Chester Springs club 7-2 at Historic Village Park.
 
Martin had a big day against Chester Springs.  He blasted a solo shot in the
2nd inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th inning.  Lionville managed
8 hits in their victory.  
 
Craig Swan(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 2
runs. Jim Rooker(0-2) was charged with the loss.  He surrendered 5 runs and 6
hits in 7 innings.
