Jerry Reuss recorded a complete game shutout as the Chester Springs ballclub
outscored the Kimberton Firefighters 6-0.
Reuss(2-0) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn't allow much,
just 7 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.79 to 3.34. Both
teams totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.
Wayne Twitchell(0-2) was charged with the loss. He pitched 8 innings and
surrendered 7 hits and 5 walks.

The Glenmoore Stableboys edged the Marshallton Mad Hatters in 12 innings at
Bentley Stadium 7-6.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Glenmoore won the
hard fought contest in the 12th inning. Merv Rettenmund ripped a base-knock.
Steve Ontiveros stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. After an out
was recorded, Biff Pocoroba came to the plate and drew a walk to load the
bases. Richie Hebner followed next and he ripped a single resulting in an
exciting win for Glenmoore and a raucous post-game celebration by the home
town fans. Glenmoore finished with 12 hits in the victory.
Gene Garber(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Rawly
Eastwick(0-2) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks in
1/3 of an inning.

Center fielder Garry Maddox ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Devault
Dynamiters beat the Eagle Eagles in 11 innings 9-7.
The game was deadlocked at 7 after nine full innings. Devault came out on top
in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Bob Bailey started the attack
as he laced a one-base hit. Del Unser stepped into the batter's box and he
stroked a base-hit. Maddox then reached on an error. Larry Parrish was next
to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Gary Carter came up to bat and was
walked intentionally to load the bases. A balk was called. Both teams ended
up with 13 hits on the afternoon.
The win went to Bruce Sutter(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 2/3 innings. The
loss was charged to Gene Pentz(0-1) in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 4 hits
in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Left fielder Derrel Thomas had 2 base hits as the Guthriesville Golddiggers
defeated the Elverson Squires 5-4 at French Creek Park.
The deciding run was scored by Guthriesville in the top of the 8th. After an
out was recorded, Bobby Murcer drew a walk. After another out, Enos Cabell
came up and he slapped a single. Thomas then delivered a single. Elverson
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
The victory was credited to Steve Rogers(2-0) who went 8 innings, allowing 4
runs. Kent Tekulve recorded the save, his 2nd. Al Hrabosky(1-2) was tagged
with the loss in relief. He pitched 4 innings giving up 1 hit and 3
walks.

Greg Luzinski touched them all and had 3 RBI at The Nest where the Lionville
team beat the Honey Brook Beekeepers 12-4.
Steve Carlton(3-1) had a solid outing for Lionville. He surrendered 9 hits
and 1 walk in 8 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. Both teams
totaled 9 hits on the night.
Bob Knepper(0-2) suffered the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 3 hits in 5 and 1/3
innings.
