In a tight game it was the Glenmoore Stableboys 5, the Devault Dynamiters 3 at
Bentley Stadium.
 
Glenmoore came up with 4 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 5 hits.  That
was all Bob Owchinko(3-1) needed.  Glenmoore finished with 9 hits in the
victory.  
 
John Urrea recorded his 1st save.  Jackie Brown(1-1) was tagged with the loss.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without
his best stuff,' Barry Bentley said after the game.  'Owchinko did not have
command of his pitches most of the night, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'

Dave Parker slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Eagle Eagles topped the
Marshallton Mad Hatters 11-8 at Four Dogs Field.
 
Marshallton was unable to claim the lead after Eagle went ahead in the 4th
inning when they came up with 3 runs on 3 hits.  The critical plate
appearance was by Parker who quieted the home crowd when he belted a
three-run homer.  For the game Eagle out-hit Marshallton 17-14.  
 
The victory went to Rick Reuschel(2-0) who went 7 innings, allowing 7 runs.
Reuschel got relief help from Randy Moffitt who gained credit for his 1st
save.  Eddie Solomon(1-2) was given the loss in relief.  He allowed 5 runs
and 7 hits in 5 and 1/3 innings.  
 
HONEY BROOK AT ELVERSON

Steve Garvey connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI as the Elverson Squires
defeated the Honey Brook Beekeepers 9-8 at French Creek Park.
 
Dave Pagan(1-0) was called upon to do the job and he was the winning pitcher.
He went 3 and 1/3 innings surrendering 2 hits and 2 walks and whiffed an
impressive total of 5 Honey Brook batters.  Elverson rapped out 12 hits for
the afternoon.  
 
Pagan got help from Mike Garman who was credited with his 5th save.  Joe
Kerrigan(0-3) was hit with the loss in relief.  
 
CHESTER SPRINGS AT LIONVILLE

At Foster Field the Chester Springs club outscored the Lionville ballclub 4-1.
 
Phil Niekro(3-1) was very good in the win.  He allowed only 5 hits and 3 walks
in 8 and 2/3 innings dropping his ERA from 2.63 to 2.17.  Lionville was
out-hit by Chester Springs, 9-5.  
 
Bo McLaughlin got the save, his 1st.  Steve Carlton(3-2) took the loss.  He
allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
