Right fielder Dave Parker cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the Eagle Eagles
topped the hopeless Honey Brook Beekeepers 9-6 at Hickory Park.

In the bottom of the 4th inning Eagle went on top for good with 2 runs on 2
base hits. After an out was recorded, Bill Plummer was the sparkplug when he
drew a walk. Felix Millan followed and he stroked a one-base hit. Jerry
White then lined a base-hit. Darrel Chaney was up next and he worked the
squeeze play to perfection. Eagle ended up with 14 hits for the game while
Honey Brook had 11.

The victory was credited to Rick Reuschel(17-11) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Randy Moffitt got the save, his 35th. Doc Medich(5-12)
suffered the loss. He surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Homeruns- T.Foli(6th), M.Perez(5th)

Tim Foli smacked a grand slam as the Elverson Squires defeated the Marshallton
Mad Hatters 10-8 at Four Dogs Field.

Foli provided much of the offense. He slapped a single in the 2nd inning,
launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 3rd
inning and ripped a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Marshallton had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.

Jim Barr(13-15) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 8 runs. Barr was helped out by Al Hrabosky who recorded his 18th
save. The loss was charged to Gary Nolan(11-10). He was unable to control
the Elverson offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

John Young was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'

batters at Great Valley Stadium in an evening game. The Glenmoore Stableboys
got a 2-0 win.

Glenmoore scored 2 runs in the 6th inning. The key at-bat was by Richie
Hebner who deflated the crowd as he clubbed a two-run home run. Glenmoore
banged out 8 hits on the night.

Gene Garber recorded the save, his 34th. Joe Kerrigan(1-2) was tagged with the
loss in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 1 hit in 1 inning.

the Chester Springs club 8-4.

Jim Kaat(6-22) pitched well for Guthriesville in their victory. He went 8
innings surrendering 9 hits and 3 walks. Chester Springs made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Jerry Reuss(10-12) was hit with the loss. Guthriesville knocked him around a
bit, as he gave up 7 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings. When questioned about the
loss, Jim Ghoulach said, 'The fans got to see an exciting game out there
tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this time. Next time,

Homeruns- L.Roberts(12th), B.Madlock(24th)

One run was the difference at Kimberton Fairground as the Lionville ballclub
defeated the Kimberton Firefighters 9-8.

Lionville set the tone of the game in the first inning when they came up with
4 runs on 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Leon Roberts who
helped quiet the crowd when he smashed a two-run homer. Kimberton threatened
in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Randy Jones(25-8) went 8 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Tom Walker
recorded his 3rd save. Don Carrithers(7-11) ended up with the loss. He
pitched 2/3 of an inning and surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk.

'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Jones said.

9/15/76: Lionville Holds Off Kimberton, 9-8

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
What has happened to our pitching here in Kimberton? I'll be glad to get out of this den of anxiety after the game tomorrow afternoon. Thankfully, Simba, Wynn, and Leon swung their bats pretty well. We ended up needing everything they gave us. Tom Walker had a tough out to get there at the end in Watson but Walker managed. Oh and how about Reitz and Speier playing each other's positions in the 1st? I like a joke as much as the next guy but just because we've clinched is no reason to pull a stunt like that.

Steve Garvey blasted a homerun and had 6 RBI as the Elverson Squires ballclub
embarrassed the Marshallton Mad Hatters 18-4 at Four Dogs Field.

Garvey was unconscious all evening. The Marshallton fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He doubled
scoring two baserunners in the 1st inning, stroked a base-hit bringing in two
baserunners in the 5th inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 9th inning.
Elverson lit up the scoreboard in the 5th inning which saw them score 11 runs
on 6 hits. Overall Elverson out-hit Marshallton 15-11.

John Denny(9-11) allowed 4 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. J.R. Richard(12-11) was charged with the loss. He was unable to
control the Elverson offense and allowed 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.

'I felt great out there tonight' Garvey said. 'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
