9/10/76: Lionville Clinches Pennant, Nips Chester Springs, 5-4

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
Chuck Taylor on the mound when we clinch? Who'da thunk?! Certainly not me during much of the season. But he did a fantastic job tonight. I'm happy for the guy - and for the team. Clinching the pennant is very gratifying. Kenny Reitz's homer that just cleared in the 6th holds up. Fred Andrews, whoever he is, comes within half a foot of tying it in the 8th. But it stays in the park. Then Monday is sitting 90 feet away with the dangerous Winfield at the plate. My knee was pumping 90 mph. And Taylor - OK, tonight I refer to him as Chuck - gets Winfield to hit an easy grounder to Kenny! We rush the mound! Yeah!
