Second baseman Felix Millan had 3 base hits and 4 RBI at Hickory Park as the
Eagle Eagles belted the Honey Brook Beekeepers 13-1.
 
Pat Zachry(12-10) delivered a fine performance for Eagle.  He went 5 and 1/3
innings and surrended up 5 hits and no walks.  Zachry racked up 6 strikeouts.
Overall Eagle out-hit Honey Brook 16-7.  
 
Chip Lang got the save, his 3rd.  Ray Burris(8-21) was tagged with the loss.
He was touched for 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.  
 
ELVERSON AT MARSHALLTON

Right fielder Ken Henderson hit one over the fence as the Elverson Squires
defeated the Marshallton Mad Hatters 7-5 at Four Dogs Field.
 
Elverson erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 8th inning as
they scored 4 runs on 4 base hits.  The biggest moment was provided by Joe
Ferguson who helped quiet the crowd when he smacked a three-run homer.
Elverson had a total of 9 hits for the game.  
 
Ron Schueler(1-2) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Mike
Garman recorded his 2nd save.  J.R. Richard(12-12) was given the loss.  He
allowed 3 homeruns in 7 and 1/3 innings of work.  
 
GLENMOORE AT DEVAULT

344 fans were treated to a fine game at Great Valley Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Devault Dynamiters won by the
slimmest of margins, 3-2, over the Glenmoore Stableboys.
 
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Devault won the hard fought
contest in the 12th inning.  Tim McCarver banged out a single.  Gene Garber
then uncorked a wild pitch.  After another out, Garry Maddox struck out,
unable to help the rally.  Ted Kubiak followed and he smacked a single
resulting in a mighty exciting win for Devault and the 344 home town fans in
attendance.  Both teams ended up with 9 hits on the night.  
 
The winning pitcher was Bruce Sutter(4-7) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Garber(2-5) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He surrendered 5 hits
and 1 walk in 4 and 1/3 innings.  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT CHESTER SPRINGS

In a tight game it was the Chester Springs club 4, the league door-mat
Guthriesville Golddiggers 2 at Historic Village Park.
 
Tom Seaver(16-8) pitched a fine game.  He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 7 and
2/3 innings.  Chester Springs ended up with 10 hits for the game while
Guthriesville had 7.  
 
Charlie Hough earned his 33rd save.  The loss was charged to Steve
Rogers(8-14).  He allowed 10 hits and 6 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.  'It
wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Seaver said.
 
LIONVILLE AT KIMBERTON

Third baseman Bill Madlock homered and had 2 RBI and Fred Norman completed the
game without help from the bullpen as the Kimberton Firefighters beat the
Lionville ballclub 5-2.
 
Lionville fell behind quickly as the Kimberton offense came through in the
first inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits.  Kimberton finished with 10 hits in
the victory.  
 
Norman(7-7) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Steve Carlton(18-5)
absorbed the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 5 walks in 5 and
1/3 innings.
