Pete Lacock blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI at French Creek Park where the
Marshallton Mad Hatters beat the Elverson Squires 6=2.
 
Brent Strom(14-5) pitched a solid game.  He went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 8
hits and no walks.  Marshallton finished with 12 hits in the victory.
 
Rawly Eastwick gained credit for his 37th save.  Bob Forsch(7-9) was the
loser.

Bill Bonham retired 10 batters on strikeouts at Bentley Stadium where the
Glenmoore Stableboys beat the Devault Dynamiters 4 to 0.
 
Bonham(8-11) was solid in the win.  He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and 6
walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 5.15 to 4.86.  Glenmoore rapped out
12 hits for the night.  
 
Tommy John(9-11) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10
hits and 4 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.  'Everything felt great' Bonham said.
'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'

At Hopewell Field, the Guthriesville fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Tom Seaver(14-8) finally bested his Guthriesville opposite, Andy
Messersmith(7-13), 3-1.
 
Chester Springs took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning scoring one runner
on 2 hits.  That early run support was all that Seaver required.  Neither
team managed to score after the 4th inning.  
 
Seaver got help from Charlie Hough who was credited with his 31st save.
Messersmith ended up with the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 10 hits and 3
walks in 7 innings.  
 
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Seaver said.
 
KIMBERTON AT LIONVILLE

The Kimberton Firefighters had an easy time of it at Foster Field defeating
the Lionville club 6-1.
 
Kimberton promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they tallied
2 runs on 3 hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Jim
Lonborg(13-9) and Kimberton.  That was all the run support Lonborg required.
Kimberton out-hit Lionville for the game, 11-7.  
 
Carl Morton got the save, his 1st.  The loss was charged to Craig Swan(6-8).
He gave up 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings of work.
