At Kimberton Fairground, the Kimberton faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel.  Fred Norman(6-7) finally bested his Glenmoore counterpart,
Rick Rhoden(11-7), 3-1.
 
Glenmoore was unable to recover after Kimberton went ahead in the 4th inning
plating one baserunner using 2 hits.  Glenmoore proved to be no trouble in
the 9th.  
 
Carl Morton recorded the save, his 2nd.  Rhoden was the loser. He pitched 7
and 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits and 1 walk.

Mike Schmidt had 2 base hits as the Elverson Squires outscored the Eagle
Eagles 3-1.
 
Eagle surrendered all of the runs Elverson needed in the 6th inning scoring 3
runners on 4 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Steve Garvey who
elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he doubled plating two runs.  The
game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
The victory went to Jim Barr(12-15) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Dave Tomlin earned his 4th save.  Pat Zachry(11-10) ended up with the
loss.  
 
 
MARSHALLTON AT HONEY BROOK

In a close game it was the Honey Brook Beekeepers 7, the Marshallton Mad
Hatters 5 at The Nest.
 
Honey Brook tallied 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when they had 3
base hits.  It was enough scoring to earn the victory.  Honey Brook banged
out 10 hits on the night.  
 
Tug McGraw(8-7) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory. Steve
Dunning(8-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 1 hit and no walks
in 2/3 of an inning.
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT DEVAULT

Third baseman Bill Robinson had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Devault Dynamiters
defeated the hapless Guthriesville Golddiggers 12-4 at Great Valley Stadium.
 
The Devault fans enjoyed the offense provided by Robinson.  He doubled which
scored a run in the 1st inning, stroked a base-hit in the 6th inning, doubled
in the 7th inning and smacked a three-run homer in the 8th inning.
Guthriesville was out-hit by Devault, 13-5.  
 
Butch Metzger(5-4) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Alan
Foster(1-6) was given the loss in relief.  He allowed 6 hits and 2 walks in 2
and 1/3 innings.  
 
'I had good swings tonight,' Robinson said, 'Everything felt right'.

Randy Jones went 9 strong innings as the Lionville club defeated the Chester
Springs ballclub in 10 innings 6-4 at Historic Village Park.
 
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings.  Lionville won it in the 10th
inning.  The highlight belonged to Hozay Morales who deflated the crowd as he
smashed a two-run homer.  Lionville rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.
 
Jones(24-8) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 9 innings. Charlie Hough(6-9)
took the loss in relief.  Lionville scored big getting 5 runs off him in 2
and 2/3 innings.
