9/11/76: Lionville Knocks Off Chester Springs, 6-4, in 10

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
I started the "2nd team" after a late night of celebration. Joe, Bull, Jimmy Wynn, Chris Speier, and Simba all got the night off. It took the back-ups awhile but they came through with some big hits - and eventually it was Hozay's 2-run shot in the 10th, after we had already put 2 on the board, that was our winning margin. Randy worked hard, allowing only 3 hits over 9 full, to get his 24th, throwing the exact (large) number of pitches (138) as Lefty did last night. Those guys are real workhorses. What I especially like about this win is that we clinched the season series against Ghoulach's boys. We'll win season series against every team in the league with 2 more wins against Elverson, and we'll get 7 tries against Carney's crew should we need that many. I doubt we will.
