First baseman Pete Lacock cracked a homer and had 4 RBI at Kimberton
Fairground where the Marshallton Mad Hatters beat the Kimberton Firefighters
7-4.
 
Marshallton had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 3 runs
using 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Marty Perez kicked off the action
when he drew a walk.  Ron Cey came next and he slapped a single.  After
another out, Lacock came to bat and belted a three-run homer.  Marshallton
ended up with 13 hits for the game while Kimberton had 9.  
 
Steve Dunning(8-0) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Rawly Eastwick
earned his 36th save.  Wayne Twitchell(2-2) took the loss in relief.  His ERA
increased from 2.20 to 2.83 as he allowed 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.  
 
 
ELVERSON AT DEVAULT

In a good matchup it was the Devault Dynamiters 4, the Elverson Squires 1 at
Great Valley Stadium.
 
Woodie Fryman(8-12) delivered a fine performance for Devault.  He was reached
for 4 hits and 5 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.  Fryman chalked up 9 strikeouts.
Elverson was out-hit by Devault, 10 hits to 5.  
 
Fryman was helped out by Bruce Sutter who recorded his 29th save.  Bob
Forsch(7-7) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up
2 hits and 3 walks.
 
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT EAGLE

Bill Plummer touched them all at Hickory Park where the seemingly unstoppable
Eagle Eagles beat the dreadful Guthriesville Golddiggers 4-2.
 
Ramon Hernandez(1-5) was the winning pitcher in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and
1 walk in 2 and 1/3 innings.  Eagle had 9 hits for the night.  
 
Hernandez got help from Randy Moffitt who earned his 32nd save.  Jim
Kaat(5-22) ended up with the loss.  Eagle added another win to their now very
impressive winning streak. Gary Scott was upset but philosophical about the
loss.  'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a roll.  This was one of
those times.'
 
HONEY BROOK AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Center fielder Cesar Geronimo had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Honey Brook
Beekeepers won in dramatic fashion over the Chester Springs ballclub by a
5-3 at Historic Village Park.
 
Doc Medich(5-9) earned his pay with a solid performance for Honey Brook.  He
went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits and no walks.  Honey Brook had 15 hits
for the night while Chester Springs had 9.  
 
Tug McGraw recorded the save, his 12th.  Jerry Reuss(10-9) was hit with the
loss.  He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 13 hits and 1 walk.
 
GLENMOORE AT LIONVILLE

Rick Rhoden went the distance and center fielder Larry Herndon left the yard
and had 2 RBI as the Glenmoore Stableboys topped the Lionville team 9-2 
at Foster Field.
 
Lionville fell behind quickly as the Glenmoore offense came through in the
first inning scoring 2 runners on 3 hits.  The key at-bat was by Dave
Concepcion who disappointed the partisan crowd when he cracked a two-run
shot.  Glenmoore managed 16 hits in their victory.  
 
Rhoden(11-6), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Randy
Jones(22-8) absorbed the loss.  He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 11 hits
and no walks.
