Steve Swisher blasted a homerun and had 5 RBI as the Honey Brook Beekeepers
beat the Devault Dynamiters 5-2.
 
The Devault fans didn't appreciate the big day Swisher had.  He ripped a
single bringing home two baserunners in the 2nd inning, blasted a solo shot
in the 7th inning and lashed a one-base hit plating two runs in the 9th
inning.  Honey Brook finished with 8 hits in the victory.  
 
The win was credited to Dave Freisleben(1-3) who went 7 innings allowing 2
runs. Freisleben got help from Joe Kerrigan who was credited with his 4th
save.  Joaquin Andujar(0-2) was tagged with the loss.

Joe Niekro went the distance and left fielder Lenny Randle had 3 base hits at
Historic Village Park where the Chester Springs club beat the Elverson Squires
8-4.
 
Chester Springs jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring
3 runners on 3 hits.  The big moment was provided by Hector Cruz who excited
the crowd when he blasted a two-run home run.  Chester Springs banged out 13
hits on the night.  
 
Niekro(4-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. Nino
Espinosa(2-1) took the loss.  He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs
in 5 and 2/3 innings.  
 
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT EAGLE

George Foster had 3 base hits as the Eagle Eagles topped the Guthriesville
Golddiggers 4-3 at Hickory Park.
 
Rick Reuschel(3-0) pitched well for Eagle in their victory.  He went 8 innings
surrendering 9 hits and 1 walk.  Guthriesville threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.  
 
Bill Atkinson gained credit for his 4th save. Jim Kaat(1-2) was hit with the
loss.  He gave up 4 runs and 9 hits in 5 innings.

Greg Luzinski left the yard and had 4 RBI as the Glenmoore Stableboys were
badly beaten by the Lionville team, 14-4.
 
Luzinski had a good evening at the plate.  He clubbed a two-run home run in
the 3rd inning and tripled which scored a run in the 4th inning.  The
Lionville offense smacked the Glenmoore pitching staff around, scoring in 7
of the 9 innings.  
 
Bruce Kison(1-2) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 5 innings. John
Montefusco(2-1) was the losing pitcher.  He struggled with his control
issuing 6 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
