At Hickory Park the Eagle Eagles outscored the Kimberton Firefighters 10-7.
 
Eagle scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Dan Driessen
who electrified Hickory Park when he tripled bringing in two baserunners.
Overall Eagle out-hit Kimberton 16-10.  
 
Randy Moffitt(2-1) allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. The losing pitcher was Skip Lockwood(0-1) in relief.  He pitched 1
inning and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.

In a good matchup it was the Guthriesville Golddiggers 3, the Honey Brook
Beekeepers 1 at The Nest.
 
Guthriesville tallied 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they had 3 base
hits.  Pat Rockett led off and started the rally when he stroked a base-hit.
Davey Lopes got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.
Don Kessinger was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.  Barry
Foote came up and he doubled.  Manny Mota came up to bat and was walked
intentionally.  Bobby Murcer continued the rally and singled to load the
bases.  Cesar Cedeno was next and he drew a walk.  Guthriesville managed 11
hits in their victory.  
 
The win was credited to Steve Rogers(1-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing
1 run. Kent Tekulve got the save, his 1st.  Dan Spillner(0-1) suffered the
loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.

Jim Barr came through with a solid 9 innings and third baseman Mike Schmidt
blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Elverson Squires defeated the
Glenmoore Stableboys 7-2 at French Creek Park.
 
Elverson scored 3 runs in the decisive bottom of the 3rd inning.  That was all
the runs Barr(1-1) needed.  Elverson totaled 13 hits on the night.  
 
Floyd Bannister(0-3) was the losing pitcher.  Elverson scored big getting 6
runs off him in 5 innings.
