Starting pitching just isn't getting it done. Today's beating only sounds competitive because Thomasson handed us 3 runs on what less savvy fans thought were inside-the-park homers - by Bull in the 1st (my, he had a head of steam) and Reitz in the 9th. Those were fun plays, but this team continues to play bad baseball. We're making McCovey, at 39, look like he's found the fountain of youth. It's distressing. We'll lean on Lefty tomorrow night as we hopefully avoid getting swept.
