The Devault Dynamiters offense put up 5 runs on the scoreboard in the 6th
inning and and the Glenmoore Stableboys locked up in an exciting one-run game
at Great Valley Stadium. The final score was the Devault Dynamiters 7, the
Glenmoore Stableboys 6 in 10 innings.
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. Finally, Devault prevailed in
the 10th inning. Del Unser lashed a single. Bill Robinson followed next and
he banged out a single. Gary Carter then slapped a base-hit making Devault
the winners and sending the 700 fans home happy. Devault had 13 hits for the
night.
The winning pitcher was Rich Gossage(1-0) who allowed no runs in 4 innings.
Gary Lavelle(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 4
hits in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Center fielder Rowland Office had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Bob Shirley threw a 2
hitter as the Marshallton Mad Hatters defeated the Honey Brook Beekeepers 6-2
at Four Dogs Field.
Shirley(2-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the Honey Brook hitters. He
allowed only 2 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 2.45 to
1.10. Marshallton banged out 11 hits on the night.
Ray Burris(0-2) suffered the loss. He allowed 10 hits and no walks in 7
innings.

Gary Thomasson smacked 2 homeruns at Historic Village Park as the Chester
Springs club beat the Lionville team in 15 innings 4-3.
Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Chester Springs won
the game in the 15th inning. After an out was recorded, Rennie Stennett
singled. After another out, Stennett came to bat and stole second base.
Lenny Randle then doubled giving Chester Springs the victory as 9 happy fans
celebrated wildly. Both teams totaled 10 hits on the night.
The win was credited to Bo McLaughlin(1-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing
no runs. The loss was charged to Max Leon(1-1) in relief. He surrendered 3
hits and no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
