Joe Wallis left the yard and had 4 RBI at Four Dogs Field as the Marshallton
Mad Hatters beat the Guthriesville Golddiggers 10-3.
 
In the bottom of the 4th inning Marshallton scored 6 runs when they had 5 base
hits.  The key at-bat was by Wallis who brought the crowd to their feet when
he cleared the fences for a two-run home run.  Marshallton had 10 hits for
the night while Guthriesville had 5.  
 
The win was credited to J.R. Richard(13-14) who went 8 and 2/3 innings
allowing 3 runs. Larry Dierker(6-15) suffered the loss.  He allowed
Marshallton 5 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings of work.

Rick Rhoden had a strong outing as the Glenmoore Stableboys topped the league
doormat Honey Brook Beekeepers 4-1 at The Nest.
 
Honey Brook surrendered all of the runs Glenmoore needed in the 7th inning
when they came up with 4 runs on 4 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by
Larry Herndon who helped quiet the crowd when he laced a base-hit scoring two
baserunners.  Glenmoore had 8 hits for the game and Honey Brook had 5.
 
Rhoden(13-8) went 8 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Rhoden got relief
help from Gene Garber who gained credit for his 35th save.  Bob Knepper(0-2)
was the loser.  He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an
earned run in the game.

Jerry Morales had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Craig Swan went 8 and two third
solid innings as the potent Lionville team defeated the Elverson Squires 4-1 
at French Creek Park.
 
Swan(7-8) was solid in the win. He allowed just 4 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 2/3
innings seeing his ERA drop from 5.18 to 4.87.  Elverson was out-hit by
Lionville, 13-4.  
 
Joe Sambito was credited with his 7th save.  Bob Forsch(7-11) was given the
loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 4 walks in
6 and 2/3 innings.
