Andy Messersmith tossed a shutout and Keith Hernandez had 2 base hits and 2
RBI as the Guthriesville Golddiggers defeated the pathetic Honey Brook
Beekeepers 4-0 at The Nest.
Messersmith(8-13) was tremendous on the mound for Guthriesville. He allowed
just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Guthriesville had a total of 8 hits
for the game.
Jerry Koosman(13-9) ended up with the loss. He surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk
in 7 innings.

Right fielder Reggie Smith blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI and Jim Lonborg had
a complete game as the Kimberton Firefighters smashed the overmatched Devault
Dynamiters, 13-3, at Great Valley Stadium.
Kimberton took the lead off Lynn McGlothen in the first inning scoring a
single run using 2 hits. Kimberton bats were very productive in the 7th
inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 6 hits. Kimberton had many
opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.
Lonborg(14-9) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory.
McGlothen(11-12) was hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Richie Hebner hit a homerun as the Glenmoore Stableboys bested the Elverson
Squires 3-1 at French Creek Park.
Rick Rhoden(12-8) pitched well for Glenmoore in their victory. He went 6 and
1/3 innings surrendering 4 hits and 2 walks. Glenmoore managed 9 hits in
their victory.
Gary Lavelle was credited with his 6th save. Doug Rau(12-12) was tagged with
the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 9 hits in 9 innings.
