In a close game the Chester Springs ballclub got by the Kimberton Firefighters
4-2 at Historic Village Park.
 
Chester Springs took the lead off Eric Rasmussen in the first inning scoring a
single run.  Chester Springs banged out 7 hits on the night.  
 
The win was credited to Tom Seaver(17-8) who went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2
runs. Charlie Hough recorded his 35th save.  Rasmussen(5-9) was hit with the
loss.

Al Oliver cracked a homer and had 4 RBI as the Elverson Squires outscored the
Lionville team in 10 innings 6-2 at Foster Field.
 
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings.  Finally, Elverson
pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  The key offensive moment was
provided by Oliver who deflated the crowd as he ripped a base-knock bringing
in two baserunners.  The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
 
The win went to Al Hrabosky(8-5) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 1/3 innings. Chuck
Taylor(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 4 hits and no
walks in 1 inning.
