In a one-sided affiar at Four Dogs Field the final score was the Marshallton
Mad Hatters 7, the Guthriesville Golddiggers 2.
 
Marshallton had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning when
they came up with 4 base hits.  That was all Tom Underwood(9-8) needed.
Marshallton had 11 hits for the night while Guthriesville had 7.  
 
Larry Christenson(3-16) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings
and surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk.
 
GLENMOORE AT HONEY BROOK

Bo McLaughlin allowed 3 hits while blanking Honey Brook at The Nest as the
Glenmoore Stableboys beat the lifeless Honey Brook Beekeepers 5-0.
 
McLaughlin(4-8) was virtually untouchable.  He didn't give up much, just 3
hits and 3 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.42 to 3.92.  Glenmoore
finished with 9 hits in the victory.  
 
Dave Freisleben(5-12) was charged with the loss.  He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 6 innings of work.  
  
DEVAULT AT KIMBERTON

Center fielder Garry Maddox connected with a 'big fly' and had 5 RBI as the
Devault Dynamiters bested the Kimberton Firefighters 8-1 at Kimberton
Fairground.
 
Maddox was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense.  He doubled knocking in a run in the 5th inning,
belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning and banged out a single resulting
in a run in the 9th inning.  Devault had 11 hits for the game and Kimberton
had 7.  
 
Joaquin Andujar(6-10) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Andujar got help from Dan Warthen who earned his 4th save.  Larry Demery(6-9)
was given the loss.  
 
EAGLE AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Rennie Stennett had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Historic Village Park as the
Chester Springs team beat the Eagle Eagles 5-4.
 
The game was won by Chester Springs when they scored a run in the bottom of
the 8th inning.  After an out was recorded, Dave Winfield doubled.  After
another out, Hector Cruz stepped up to the plate and he laced a one-base hit.
Bob Boone then drew a walk.  For the game Chester Springs out-hit Eagle 11-7.
 
Dale Murray(1-7) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Charlie Hough was
credited with his 38th save.  The loss was charged to Gene Pentz(3-4) in
relief.

Joe Morgan hit 2 doubles as the Lionville club outscored the Elverson Squires
5-2.
 
Lionville jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring a single
run on 2 hits.  Ken Sanders was perfect in relief and got the save, his 5th.
 
Bruce Kison(16-6) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Jim
Barr(15-16) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 8
innings.
