Doug Flynn had 2 base hits as the blistering-hot Marshallton Mad Hatters
outscored the reeling Guthriesville Golddiggers 4-2.
 
In the 6th inning Marshallton scored 3 runs with the help of 4 hits.  The
biggest moment was provided by Ken Griffey who electrified Four Dogs Field
when he banged out a single bringing home two baserunners.  Adrian
Devine(5-1) got help from Rawly Eastwick who pitched great and earned his
42nd save.  
 
Jim Kaat(8-24) was the loser.  He allowed 8 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 2/3
innings.

In a game at The Nest the Glenmoore Stableboys got by the Honey Brook
Beekeepers 4-1.
 
Glenmoore took the lead for keeps in the top of the 7th inning plating an
isolated run using 2 hits.  Neither team was able to score until the 7th
inning.  
 
Bill Bonham(9-11) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Gene
Garber earned his 36th save.  The losing pitcher was Jerry Koosman(13-11).
He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 walks.
  
DEVAULT AT KIMBERTON

The Devault Dynamiters defeated the Kimberton Firefighters 4-1 at Kimberton
Fairground.
 
Kimberton fell behind quickly as the Devault offense came through in the first
inning scoring one runner.  Devault had a total of 8 hits for the game.
 
Woodie Fryman(11-12) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory.
Bruce Sutter earned the save, his 37th.  John Candelaria(16-9) ended up with
the loss.

One run was the difference at Historic Village Park as the Eagle Eagles
defeated the Chester Springs ballclub in 10 innings 2 to 1.
 
The score was tied at 1 after nine.  Eagle came out the victor in the 10th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Dave Parker lofted a solo-blast
'downtown'.  Dan Driessen was the next batter, but he struck out.  Eagle
managed 7 hits in their victory.  
 
The victory went to Rick Reuschel(19-12) who went 9 innings, allowing 1 run.
Reuschel was helped out by Randy Moffitt who recorded his 36th save.  Roger
Moret(2-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.  
 
LIONVILLE AT ELVERSON

Elias Sosa delivered 5 and one third solid innings and second baseman Wayne
Garrett hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Elverson Squires beat the
Lionville team 9-1.
 
Sosa(5-3) was dominant in relief.  He didn't allow much, just 1 hit and no
walks in 5 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA to 3.97.  Elverson had 13 hits
for the afternoon while Lionville had 7.  
 
Randy Jones(26-11) suffered the loss.  He allowed 2 runs and 7 hits in 6
innings.
