Dick Ruthven allowed Bob Phillips to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and George Foster went deep and had 3 RBI as the Eagle Eagles topped the
slumping Devault Dynamiters 9-2 at Hickory Park.
 
Eagle took the lead off Tom Griffin in the first inning scoring one runner
using 2 hits.  Eagle rapped out 14 hits for the night.  
 
The victory went to Ruthven(7-7) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. The
losing pitcher was Griffin(2-5).  He was knocked around, surrendering 9 runs
in 4 and 2/3 innings.  
 
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT MARSHALLTON

Rob Dressler had a complete game as the Marshallton Mad Hatters beat the
Guthriesville Golddiggers 8-3.
 
Dressler(3-3) had a solid outing for Marshallton.  He surrendered 6 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.35.  Marshallton banged out 10 hits
on the night.  
 
Steve Rogers(5-9) was hit with the loss.  He gave up 10 hits and 5 walks in 8
innings.
 
GLENMOORE AT HONEY BROOK

Willie Stargell jacked one out of the ballyard and had 5 RBI and Jerry Koosman
was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete game at
The Nest where the Honey Brook Beekeepers beat the Glenmoore Stableboys 6-2.
 
Stargell enjoyed a fine evening at the plate.  He launched a three-run homer
in the 1st inning, smacked a single resulting in a run in the 5th inning and
laced a base-knock knocking in a run in the 7th inning.  Honey Brook managed
12 hits in their victory.  
 
Koosman(8-2), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. John
Montefusco(9-7) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 12 hits and 3 walks in
6 and 2/3 innings.  
 
KIMBERTON AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Third baseman Bill Madlock lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as
the Kimberton Firefighters defeated the Chester Springs team 13-9 at Historic 
Village Park.
 
Jim Lonborg(8-9) had a rough outing, but still came away with the win.  He
gave up 8 runs, 11 hits and no walks in 6 innings and surrendered 2
'round-trippers'.  Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, Chester Springs
could not get the win.  
 
Steve Stone recorded the save, his 1st.  The loss was charged to Phil
Niekro(9-8).  He was knocked around by Kimberton, allowing 7 hits and 6 walks
in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Jerry Morales had 3 base hits and 4 RBI as the Lionville ballclub ballclub
embarrassed the Elverson Squires 13-3.
 
Lionville had 5 runs cross the plate in the 3rd inning when they had 5 base
hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Randy Jones(17-3) and
Lionville.  That was all the run support Jones required.  Lionville had 14
hits for the afternoon while Elverson had 7.  
 
Jim Barr(9-9) was given the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 5 hits and
2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
