The Glenmoore Stableboys edged the Eagle Eagles 8-7 at Hickory Park.
 
The game was won by Glenmoore with a run in the 9th inning.  Rob Andrews
tripled.  Willie Montanez followed and he laced a base-knock.  Willie
Crawford then grounded into a double play.  Glenmoore had 13 hits for the
night.  
 
Gary Lavelle(6-1) allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Gene Garber recorded the save, his 26th.  Gene Pentz(2-3) was the
losing pitcher in relief.  
 
KIMBERTON AT MARSHALLTON

Brent Strom threw a complete game shutout at Four Dogs Field as the
Marshallton Mad Hatters beat the Kimberton Firefighters 4-0.
 
Strom(13-5) was in control of the game from the outset.  He didn't allow much,
just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Marshallton managed only 6 hits on the
night.  
 
Eric Rasmussen(3-8) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings
allowing 5 hits and 5 walks.

In a close game it was the Chester Springs ballclub 4, the Honey Brook
Beekeepers 2 at The Nest.
 
In the 5th inning Chester Springs scored 2 runs. Chester Springs had just 6
hits for the night.  The winning pitcher was Jim Rooker(5-9) who allowed 2
runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Charlie Hough got the save, his 26th.  Pete
Falcone(5-13) took the loss.

The Elverson Squires had an easy time of it at French Creek Park defeating the
Devault Dynamiters 11-6.
 
Mike Schmidt had a good evening at the plate.  He delivered a solo blast in
the 1st inning, hit a single bringing in a run in the 3rd inning and laced a
one-base hit resulting in a run in the 5th inning.  Elverson kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
 
The victory went to Ed Halicki(8-9) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing 4
runs. Al Hrabosky earned his 11th save.  Lynn McGlothen(8-8) absorbed the
loss.  He surrended 3 homeruns in his 4 innings.  
 
LIONVILLE AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Center fielder Cesar Cedeno had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Larry Dierker pitched a
complete game as the Guthriesville Golddiggers bested the Lionville team 10-4
 
It was a good day for Guthriesville thanks to Cedeno.  He tripled in the 1st
inning, tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 3rd inning, laced a
base-hit in the 5th inning and doubled plating a run in the 6th inning.
Guthriesville finished with 13 hits in the victory.  
 
Dierker(6-10), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The losing
pitcher was Randy Jones(19-6).  He was knocked around pretty good, giving up
7 runs in 4 innings.
