8/7/76: Lionville Knocks Off Honey Brook, 6-1

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:

Speier made up for an error in the top of the 6th with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the inning. We coasted to the finish after that - except that Chuck Taylor is going to lose us a game at some point if he can't find his bearings. Lefty didn't have his best stuff, but he made pitches when he really needed them. How about that Bull? 3 more hits and he's up to .326. Joe is going to have some competition in the MVP voting if Bull keeps this up. The round numbers in our record are worth mentioning - we're now 80‑30 - and our 3rd try to reach the 50 games over .500 plateau turned out to be the charm. And - speaking of round numbers - tomorrow I'll send Randy to the mound to try to snag his 20th win.
