In a close game it was the Guthriesville Golddiggers 8, the Elverson Squires 6
at French Creek Park.
Jim Kaat(4-14) pitched well enough to earn the win. He went 7 innings
surrendering 8 hits and no walks and was touched for 2 homeruns.
Guthriesville totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.
Kent Tekulve got the save, his 2nd. Bob Forsch(5-6) was the losing pitcher.

Johnny Grubb touched them all as the Glenmoore Stableboys beat the Marshallton
Mad Hatters 4-2.
Glenmoore came up with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning. After two were
out Grubb jump-started the rally as he ripped a one-base hit. Richie Hebner
stepped into the batter's box and he reached on an error. Larry Herndon then
drew a walk to load the bases. Wilbur Howard followed next and he stroked a
base-hit. Dave Concepcion was the next batter, but he struck out. Glenmoore
managed 11 hits in their victory.
John Montefusco(10-7) got the win allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Montefusco got
help from Gene Garber who was credited with his 20th save. J.R. Richard(8-8)
took the loss.

The incredible Lionville ballclub bested the Honey Brook Beekeepers 5-1 at
The Nest.
Honey Brook found themselves trailing quickly as the Lionville bats came
through in the first inning when they scored 3 runs on 3 hits. That was all
Al Downing(1-0) needed. Lionville banged out 9 hits on the night.
Ray Burris(7-16) was charged with the loss. He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings
giving up 6 hits and 4 walks.
