The Kimberton Firefighters enjoyed a blow-out, pounding the struggling Chester
Springs team pitchers for 12 while Eric Rasmussen(3-7), with relief help from
Don Carrithers, surrendered 2 runs to Chester Springs.
 
Rasmussen delivered a fine performance for Kimberton.  He allowed 6 hits and 2
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.  Kimberton lit up the scoreboard in the 4th
inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits.  For the game Kimberton out-hit
Chester Springs 20-6.  
 
Tom Seaver(10-4) was the losing pitcher.  He was hit hard and gave up 13 hits
and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Dave Freisleben was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Bentley Stadium as the Honey Brook Beekeepers beat the
Glenmoore Stableboys 10-4.
 
Gary Matthews provided the offensive punch.  He stroked a single in the 5th
inning, smacked a one-base hit scoring a run in the 6th inning and smacked a
three-run homer in the 8th inning.  Honey Brook banged out 15 hits on the
night.  
 
Freisleben(4-7), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Bill
Bonham(4-8) was charged with the loss.  He allowed 13 hits and 4 walks in 7
and 2/3 innings.

Left fielder George Foster hit for the cycle and had 5 RBI and Rick Reuschel
had a complete game as the Eagle Eagles outscored the Devault Dynamiters 13-5.
 
Foster was a one-man wrecking crew.  He doubled knocking in a run in the 1st
inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 3rd inning, banged out a single in
the 4th inning and tripled scoring two baserunners in the 9th inning.  Eagle
had 16 hits for the night.  
 
Reuschel(12-8) got the victory, allowing 5 runs for the game. The losing
pitcher was Joaquin Andujar(4-8).  He was knocked around by Eagle, allowing
10 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'I had good swings tonight,' Foster said, 'Everything felt right'.
 
MARSHALLTON AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Ron Hodges hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Marshallton Mad Hatters
topped the woeful Guthriesville Golddiggers 8-6 at Hopewell Field.
 
J.R. Richard(10-8) was solid if not spectacular.  He went 8 innings
surrendering 8 hits and 5 walks and surrendered 2 homeruns.  Rawly Eastwick
earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 30th save.  
 
Jim Kaat(5-15) was the loser.  He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs
in 6 and 2/3 innings.

Randy Jones pitched a complete game at Foster Field as the Lionville ballclub
won a thriller over the Elverson Squires in, 4-3.
 
The game was won by Lionville with a run in the 9th inning.  Ken Reitz hit a
single.  Ed Ott was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Chris Speier
then drew a walk.  Joe Morgan was up next and he doubled resulting in a
mighty exciting win for Lionville and the 1,136 home town fans in attendance.
Lionville totaled 12 hits on the night.  
 
Jones(19-4) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. Jim Barr(9-12) was
hit with the loss.  He allowed 4 runs and 11 hits in 8 and 1/3 innings.
