8/8/76: Honey Brook Holds Off Lionville, 6-5

Randy is going to have to wait for that 20th win. He struggled today. That Downtown Ollie Brown must have gotten jacked up by throwing out Joe at the plate in the 3rd - he took Randy downtown the very next inning for 3 runs. As much as Brown's dinger hurt Randy, Thornton's 2-run shot in the 6th hurt more - probably turned out to be the difference in the game. Our lineup can strike fast, but playing from behind like we have lately isn't the winning recipe we've used for most of the season. Our biggest bright spot today - and there were few - was the Toy Cannon with 2 dingers. That's his 2nd multiple homer game if I recall correctly. 2 days off coming up this week. That's rare. Hope it helps us remember how to manufacture those early inning bursts.
