Dennis Lewallyn completed the game without help from the bullpen as the
Glenmoore Stableboys bested the Kimberton Firefighters in 10 innings 4-3
at Bentley Stadium.
 
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Glenmoore was victorious in the
10th inning.  Larry Herndon drew a walk.  John Hale was next and he delivered
a base-hit.  Hale stole second with some aggressive base running.  Willie
Crawford was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim.  Dave Concepcion
stepped into the box and lined a single giving Glenmoore the victory and
sending the 904 home-town fans home happy.  Glenmoore rapped out 10 hits for
the afternoon.  
 
Lewallyn(2-1) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Don
Carrithers(2-7) took the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 2
and 1/3 innings.

Shortstop Hector Torres had 2 base hits at French Creek Park where the
Elverson Squires beat the Eagle Eagles by the score of 5-2.
 
Elverson did all the necessary damage in the 6th inning scoring 5 runners on 4
hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Wayne Garrett who electrified
French Creek Park when he doubled with all three runners coming home.
Elverson totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.  
 
The win went to Doug Rau(9-7) who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings. Dave Tomlin
preserved the game for Rau, recording his his 3rd.  Don Sutton(9-6) was given
the loss.  He surrendered 5 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Bombo Rivera hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI as the Guthriesville Golddiggers beat
the Devault Dynamiters in 13 innings 9-8.
 
Both teams had scored 8 runs after nine full innings.  Finally, Guthriesville
pulled the game out in the 13th inning.  Cesar Cedeno reached on an error.
Cedeno got a good lead and stole second.  After an out was recorded, Keith
Hernandez came to bat and doubled giving Guthriesville the win and sending
the home town fans into a frenzy.  Guthriesville had a total of 16 hits for
the game.  
 
Kent Tekulve(1-1) went 4 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Butch
Metzger(2-3) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He was a hard-luck loser,
pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and not allowing an earned run.

Brent Strom delivered 10 solid innings at The Nest as the Marshallton Mad
Hatters beat the Honey Brook Beekeepers in 10 innings 4-3.
 
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings.  Marshallton came out on
top in the 10th inning.  Rowland Office laced a base-knock.  Ron Hodges came
next and he lined a one-base hit.  Garry Templeton then singled to load the
bases.  Ken Griffey was up next and he drew a walk.  After another out, Mike
Ivie stepped in and he grounded into a double play.  Marshallton banged out 7
hits on the night.  
 
Strom(12-4) allowed 3 runs on the game. Santo Alcala(3-6) ended up with the
loss in relief.  He pitched 2 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 3 hits and 1
walk.
