7/24/76: Lionville Sweeps Marshallton, 4-3, in 10

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
A real gratifying comeback win: Joe hits a pinch-homer to tie it in the 8th, his 2nd dinger of the twin-bill, and then drives in Kenny Reitz with what would turn out to be the winning run in the 10th. I almost let Milbourne hit for himself there in the 8th but I figured the 2 hits he already had was his limit. Sambito shook off Ivie's 3-run homer in the 1st and did a pretty nice job, lasting into the 7th. And then beautiful work by Downing and Reed out of the pen. Things got very hairy in the bottom of the 9th when Bull muffed Metzger's leadoff fly. But he redeemed himself and saved our butts 2 batters later when he robbed Templeton. I was shaking my head when I saw that ball head toward the alley, thinking we'd lost it. Bull made an inspired play. The guy can actually run when he puts his mind to it. I know he didn't want to be cast as the goat. Joe and Bull now each with 20 bombs. And while I'm mentioning round numbers - this was win number 70.
