One run was the difference at Bentley Stadium as the Glenmoore Stableboys
defeated the Eagle Eagles in 12 innings 7-6.
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. Glenmoore won the hard fought
contest in the 12th inning. Bake McBride drew a walk. McBride stole second
with some aggressive base running. After an out was recorded, Steve
Ontiveros came up and he delivered a base-hit giving Glenmoore the victory
and sending the 142 home-town fans home happy. Glenmoore had 14 hits
overall, while Eagle had 9.
John Urrea(3-1) allowed no runs in 4 innings, and picked up the victory. Dick
Ruthven(2-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 hit and 3 walks
in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Jeff Burroughs launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Devault Dynamiters
beat the Marshallton Mad Hatters 7-3.
Burroughs had a big evening at the plate. He cleared the fences for a two-run
home run in the 3rd inning and delivered a solo blast in the 5th inning.
Devault had 10 hits for the night while Marshallton had 5.
Jon Matlack(4-1) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Charlie
Williams(1-4) ended up with the loss. He surrendered no hits and 2 walks in
2/3 of an inning.

Bill Almon had 2 base hits at The Nest as the Honey Brook Beekeepers staged a
comeback win over the Chester Springs club 4-3.
Honey Brook erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
scoring 3 runs using 4 hits. After an out was recorded, Jay Johnstone
started the attack as he ripped a single. Willie Stargell stepped into the
batter's box and he popped a two-run clout over the fence. Cesar Geronimo
then drew a walk. Almon was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.
Dave Cash came up to bat and laced a base-knock. Dusty Baker kept things
alive and delivered a single. Overall Honey Brook out-hit Chester Springs 9-6.
The victory went to Dave Campbell(1-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Charlie Hough(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning
giving up 4 hits and 1 walk.
'What a win!', Campbell said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
KIMBERTON AT ELVERSON

Fred Norman hurled a fine complete game shutout at French Creek Park where the
Kimberton Firefighters beat the Elverson Squires 6-0.
Norman(3-2) had a solid outing for Kimberton. He went 9 innings surrendering
9 hits and 2 walks reducing his ERA from 3.23 to 2.72. Kimberton banged out
7 hits on the afternoon.
Doug Rau(3-2) absorbed the loss. The Kimberton ballclub's record now stands
at 16-17. With the loss, Elverson has a record of 4-6 lately, 22-16 overall.
GUTHRIESVILLE AT LIONVILLE

With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Lionville ballclub rallied to top Guthriesville Golddiggers 5-4.
Lionville came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning when
they scored 4 runs on 5 hits. Lionville finished with 9 hits in the victory.
Max Leon(3-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Clay
Carroll(3-1) was given the loss in relief. 'That was exciting!,' Ted Simmons
said. 'I would have paid money to watch this one.'
