Center fielder Garry Maddox homered as the Devault Dynamiters defeated the
Guthriesville Golddiggers 4-1 at Great Valley Stadium.
Tom Griffin(4-2) earned his pay with a solid performance for Devault. He went
7 innings and surrended up 4 hits and 1 walk. Bruce Sutter came through
with a perfect ninth inning to earn his 14th save.
Buzz Capra(2-4) was the losing pitcher.

Bill Bonham shutout Chester Springs while allowing the Glenmoore bullpen a
day-off at Historic Village Park where the Glenmoore Stableboys beat the
Chester Springs team 4-0.
Bonham(6-5) put on a good performance. He didn't give up much, just 4 hits
and 6 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 4.44 to 3.96. Glenmoore
totaled 9 hits on the night.
Jim Rooker(5-4) took the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings.

Art Howe had 2 base hits and scored 3 times at Four Dogs Field as the
Marshallton Mad Hatters beat the Eagle Eagles 7-6.
Marshallton jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring one
runner on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Ken Boswell drew a walk. Gene
Richards came to the plate and banged out a single. Richards took second on
a stolen base. After another out, Ken Griffey stepped up to the plate and he
lined a single. Eagle threatened in the 9th but Marshallton was able to put
down the rally.
Rawly Eastwick(1-3) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Steve Renko
recorded the save, his 1st. Gene Pentz(4-4) was tagged with the loss in
relief. He allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 and 1/3 innings.

In a game at French Creek Park the Honey Brook Beekeepers got by the Elverson
Squires 4-1.
Jerry Koosman(4-6) was very good in the win. He allowed just 3 hits and 4
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. Overall Honey Brook out-hit Elverson 12-5.
Joe Kerrigan recorded his 6th save. The loss was charged to Jim Barr(3-7).
He was knocked around by Honey Brook, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 8 and
1/3 innings.

870 fans watched an exciting game at Kimberton Fairground. The Kimberton
Firefighters topped the Lionville club by the slimmest of margins, 3-2.
Lionville never recovered after Kimberton took the lead in the 2nd inning
scoring a single run using 2 hits. Lionville threatened in the 9th but their
rally came up short.
Fred Norman(4-3) was the winner allowing 1 run in 6 and 1/3 innings. Norman
got help from Skip Lockwood who was credited with his 5th save. Craig
Swan(3-3) suffered the loss. He gave up just 3 runs and 6 hits in 8 innings.
