Bake McBride cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the Glenmoore Stableboys
defeated the Eagle Eagles in 11 innings 4-3 at Hickory Park.
Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Glenmoore won the
game in the 11th inning. McBride ripped a solo home run. Glenmoore managed
9 hits in their victory.
Paul Reuschel(2-0) went 4 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Gary
Lavelle preserved the game for Reuschel, recording his his 1st. Bill
Atkinson(2-4) was the loser in relief. He allowed 2 hits and no walks in 2
and 2/3 innings.

Bob Shirley allowed John Young to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the Marshallton Mad Hatters defeated the Chester Springs team 9-4 at Four Dogs
Field.
Marshallton tallied 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning when they came up
with 5 base hits. The big moment was provided by Roger Metzger who came
through for the home fans when he ripped a single which was good for two
runs. Marshallton had a total of 13 hits for the game.
Shirley(6-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. The losing
pitcher was Doug Capilla(0-1). He was unable to control the Marshallton
offense and allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.
KIMBERTON AT HONEY BROOK

Jay Johnstone had 2 base hits at The Nest where the Honey Brook Beekeepers
beat the Kimberton Firefighters 3-0.
Kimberton was unable to recover after Honey Brook went ahead in the bottom of
the 2nd inning scoring a single run. Johnstone tripled. Gene Tenace
followed and he would ground out. That was all Bob Knepper(2-2) needed. Joe
Kerrigan was perfect in relief and got the save, his 5th.
Jim Lonborg(3-2) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 6 hits and 2 walks in
7 innings.

Phil Garner touched them all and had 4 RBI at French Creek Park where the
Devault Dynamiters beat the Elverson Squires 12-7.
Jon Matlack(5-1) struggled but was good enough to win with the help of some
fine defensive plays. He gave up 8 hits and no walks in 5 innings. Devault
finished with 14 hits while Elverson ended up with 11.
Butch Metzger earned the save, his 2nd. Doug Rau(3-3) took the loss. He was
hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
LIONVILLE AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Ted Simmons collected 3 extra-base hits as the Lionville ballclub topped the
Guthriesville Golddiggers 4-1 at Hopewell Field.
Lionville went ahead for good in the top of the 4th inning plating an isolated
run on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jerry Morales ripped a
base-hit. Simmons was next and he doubled. Ed Ott then lashed a single.
After another out, Jerry Martin got his chance to keep things going, but he
went down on strikes. Lionville had 10 hits for the night.
Craig Swan(3-2) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Joe Sambito
earned his 2nd save. Grant Jackson(2-1) was tagged with the loss.
