Larry Biittner had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Hickory Park as the Eagle Eagles beat
the Glenmoore Stableboys 10-5.
 
Eagle came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when they had 5 base
hits.  It was enough to earn the victory.  Eagle had 19 hits overall, while
Glenmoore had 11.  
 
The win went to Bill Atkinson(3-4) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Bill Bonham(5-4) was charged with the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 14
hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.  
 
CHESTER SPRINGS AT MARSHALLTON

Ron Cey slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Marshallton Mad Hatters won at
Four Dogs Field in dramatic fashion over the Chester Springs team 5-3.
 
Marshallton scored the winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2 base
hits.  Art Howe led off and started the attack as he lined a one-base hit.
Steve Yeager came next and he bombed a two-run dinger resulting in an
exciting win for Marshallton and a wild post-game celebration by the home
town fans.  Marshallton finished with 10 hits while Chester Springs ended up
with 5.  
 
Eddie Solomon(2-3) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Tom
Seaver(4-3) was hit with the loss.  He surrendered 10 hits and no walks in 8
innings.
 
KIMBERTON AT HONEY BROOK

Jerry Koosman pitched a complete game and shortstop Bill Almon had 4 hits and
2 RBI as the Honey Brook Beekeepers clobbered the outmatched Kimberton
Firefighters, 14-2.
 
Kimberton was unable to claim the lead after Honey Brook went ahead in the 4th
inning when they scored 4 runs on 5 hits.  The key at-bat was by Almon who
made the Honey Brook fans a happy lot when he laced a base-knock which was
good for two runs.  The Honey Brook offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.  
 
The victory went to Koosman(3-5) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Larry
Demery(1-2) ended up with the loss.  Honey Brook knocked him around a bit, as
he gave up 9 runs in 5 innings.  
 
DEVAULT AT ELVERSON

Right fielder Ed Armbrister had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Elverson Squires
outscored the Devault Dynamiters 10-4.
 
Elverson jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 2 runs on 2
hits.  After an out was recorded, Armbrister started the attack as he ripped
a one-base hit.  After another out, Marc Hill came to bat and reached on an
error.  Vic Harris then doubled.  For the game Elverson out-hit Devault 12-9
 
Jim Barr(3-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
Barr got help from Al Hrabosky who earned his 2nd save.  Randy Lerch(2-6) was
the loser.  He gave up 8 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings of work.  
 
LIONVILLE AT GUTHRIESVILLE

In a close game the Guthriesville Golddiggers got by the Lionville club 5-3.
 
Kent Tekulve(2-4) won the game with a masterful relief performance.  He was
flawless in relief in his 1 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 4.61 to
4.40.  Guthriesville banged out 9 hits on the afternoon.  
 
The loss was charged to Steve Carlton(7-3).  He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks.
