Jeff Burroughs smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Devault Dynamiters beat
the Kimberton Firefighters 8-4.
Burroughs enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He cleared the fences for a
two-run home run in the 1st inning, clubbed a two-run home run in the 5th
inning and laced a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Jon Matlack(6-1) got
relief help from Bruce Sutter who was excellent in relief and gained credit
for his 13th save.
Fred Norman(3-3) took the loss. He was knocked around by Devault, allowing 10
hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

First baseman Gary Thomasson lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI
as the Chester Springs ballclub bested the Eagle Eagles 8-1 at Historic
Village Park.
Chester Springs had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning
when they came up with 3 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by
Thomasson who brought the crowd to their feet when he smashed a two-run
homer. Charlie Hough, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his
12th save.
The win went to Jack Billingham(4-2) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Gene Pentz(2-3) was the loser. He surrendered 4 runs and 5 hits in 4 and 2/3
innings.

John Urrea was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Bentley Stadium where the Glenmoore Stableboys beat the Honey Brook
Beekeepers 6-2.
Urrea(5-2) was very good in the win. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Glenmoore rapped out 9 hits for the
night.
Bob Knepper(2-3) was charged with the loss.

Cesar Cedeno slammed 2 homeruns as the Guthriesville Golddiggers won at
Hopewell Field in dramatic fashion over the Marshallton Mad Hatters, the
final score, 5-4.
Guthriesville won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Cedeno
delivered a solo blast making Guthriesville the victor and beginning a joyous
home town celebration. Guthriesville totaled 9 hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Grant Jackson(3-1) who allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3
innings. Rollie Fingers(0-4) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run
and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

In a good matchup it was the Lionville club 6, the Elverson Squires 4 at
Foster Field.
Lionville scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning with 3 runs using 3
hits. Ken Reitz led off and got things going when he hit a single. After an
out was recorded, Tony Scott came to bat and laced a single. Chris Speier
then drew a walk to load the bases. Joe Morgan was up next and he hit a
sacrifice fly. Ted Simmons stepped into the box and drew a walk to load the
bases. Jerry Morales kept things alive and delivered a one-base hit. Greg
Luzinski next to the plate and he drew a walk to load the bases. Dan
Schatzeder(1-0) got help from Joe Sambito who pitched a perfect ninth and was
credited with his 4th save.
The loss was charged to Mike Garman(5-3) in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and
1 walk in 1 and 1/3 innings.
