Garry Maddox connected with a 'big fly' at Great Valley Stadium as the Devault
Dynamiters beat the Guthriesville Golddiggers in 12 innings 3-2.
 
The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Finally, Devault pulled the game out in
the 12th inning.  Larry Parrish hit a single.  Ivan De Jesus stepped up next
and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Jeff Burroughs then reached on an error.
Del Unser followed next and he delivered a base-hit making Devault the
winners and sending the 897 fans home happy.  For the game Devault out-hit
Guthriesville 12-5.  
 
Butch Metzger(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 and 2/3
innings. Kent Tekulve(1-4) ended up with the loss in relief.  He was a
hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 2 and 2/3 innings of
work.  
 
MARSHALLTON AT EAGLE

Left fielder George Foster launched 2 homeruns at Hickory Park where the Eagle
Eagles beat the Marshallton Mad Hatters in 15 innings 7-6.
 
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings.  Eagle won the game in the 15th
inning.  After two were out Foster ripped a solo home run giving Eagle the
win as 586 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  Eagle finished with 16 hits in
the victory.  
 
The victory went to Gene Pentz(2-1) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Buddy Schultz(1-1) took the loss in relief.

Bob Knepper took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Dusty Baker smacked 2
homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Honey Brook Beekeepers defeated the Elverson
Squires 9-3 at The Nest.
 
Baker had a big evening at the plate.  He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in
the 3rd inning, doubled which brought home a run in the 5th inning and belted
a three-run homer in the 7th inning.  Honey Brook out-hit Elverson for the
game, 13-5.  
 
Knepper(1-2) got the win allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.  The
left-handed Knepper lost his no-hit bid when Mike Schmidt homered with one
out in the 6th inning.  Ed Halicki(1-3) was the loser.  
 
'I felt great out there tonight' Baker said.  'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.

610 fans were treated to a fine game at Kimberton Fairground as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Lionville team won by the
slimmest of margins, 4-3, over the Kimberton Firefighters.
 
Lionville started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring 3 runs utilizing 4 base hits.  Joe Morgan started the
inning off right when he reached on an error.  Gene Clines stepped into the
batter's box and he laced a single.  Ted Simmons then lashed a single.  Greg
Luzinski came up and he slapped a base-hit.  Two outs later Ken Reitz came to
bat and ripped a base-knock.  After the 4th inning, neither team was able to
score.  
 
Bruce Kison(2-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Max Leon gained credit for his 1st save.  Wayne
Twitchell(1-3) was given the loss.  He allowed 4 runs and 9 hits in 9
innings.
