One run was the difference at Four Dogs Field as the Marshallton Mad Hatters
defeated the Devault Dynamiters in 17 innings 3-2.
 
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally,
Marshallton prevailed in the 17th inning.  Tito Fuentes delivered a base-hit.
After an out was recorded, Pete Lacock came to bat and drew a walk.  Garry
Templeton then stroked a one-base hit to load the bases.  Ken Griffey
followed and he slapped a single giving Marshallton the victory and sending
the 857 home-town fans home happy.  Marshallton bats were hot in the 1st
inning which saw them score 1 runs on 4 hits, the 9th inning with 1 runs on 3
hits and the 17th inning which saw them plate 1 runs on 3 hits.  For the game
Marshallton out-hit Devault 23-12.  
 
The win was credited to Rawly Eastwick(3-2) who went 1 inning allowing no
runs. The loss was charged to Rick Baldwin(1-1) in relief.

Bob Watson had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Kimberton Firefighters defeated
the Honey Brook Beekeepers 6-3 at The Nest.
 
Kimberton took the lead for good in the 3rd inning with 2 runs utilizing 3
base hits.  George Mitterwald led off and keyed the rally when he slapped a
single.  Jose Cruz followed next and he delivered a one-base hit.  Frank
Taveras struck out, unable to help the rally.  One out later, Watson stepped
up to the plate and he banged out a single, and an error was also committed.
Jim Lonborg(6-6) got relief help from Skip Lockwood who was excellent in
relief and gained credit for his 17th save.  
 
Ray Burris(4-10) was given the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8 hits
and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
