Neither pitching staff had allowed a run after the regulation nine innings. Eagle won the hard fought contest in the 14th inning. Pete Rose doubled. Bruce Boisclair followed and he delivered a single giving Eagle the victory as 1,512 happy fans celebrated wildly. Eagle finished with 10 hits while Guthriesville ended up with 7. Randy Moffitt(6-5) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Ken Forsch(3-7) was the loser in relief. Marshallton jumped out to the early lead in the first inning as they scored 4 runs on 5 base hits. For the game Marshallton out-hit Kimberton 11-7. The win went to Steve Renko(7-3) who allowed 4 runs in 7 innings. Rawly Eastwick earned the save, his 23rd. The losing pitcher was Jim Lonborg(7-7). Halicki(6-7) was on top of his game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 3.51 to 3.29. Both teams totaled 5 hits on the night. Jon Matlack(8-4) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 5 hits in 9 innings. 'I had my good stuff tonight.' Halicki said. 'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of hitters.' Jerry Reuss(6-4) was very good in the win. He gave up just 3 hits and 5 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA to 3.16. Honey Brook was out-hit by Chester Springs, 9-3. Reuss got help from Charlie Hough who was credited with his 21st save. Doc Medich(3-5) suffered the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 4 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. GLENMOORE AT LIONVILLE Stableboys...... 0 1 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 - 3 10 1 Tiger-Cats...... 0 3 0 3 1 0 2 0 - 9 15 1 Win:Jones(15-3) Loss:Lolich(4-6) Larry Milbourne had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Foster Field as the amazing Lionville team beat the Glenmoore Stableboys 9-3. Lionville took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning when they scored 3 runs on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Ken Reitz who made the crowd happy when he delivered a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Lionville out-hit Glenmoore for the game, 15 hits to 10. The victory was credited to Randy Jones(15-3) who went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs. The loss was charged to Mickey Lolich(4-6). He got hammered, allowing 13 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
