First baseman Willie Stargell went deep and had 3 RBI at French Creek Park
where the Honey Brook Beekeepers beat the Elverson Squires 6-2.
 
Honey Brook came up with 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning when they had 3
base hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Stargell who deflated
the mood of the partisan fans when he cracked a two-run shot.  Elverson was
out-hit by Honey Brook, 10-7.  
 
The win went to Ray Burris(5-11) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings. Santo Alcala
got the save, his 2nd.  Bob Forsch(4-4) was tagged with the loss.  
 
 
MARSHALLTON AT EAGLE

Gary Nolan had a complete game at Hickory Park as the Marshallton Mad Hatters
beat the Eagle Eagles 10-4.
 
Nolan(6-7) pitched well for Marshallton in their victory.  He was reached for
11 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns.  Marshallton
totaled 14 hits on the night.  
 
Rick Reuschel(8-7) ended up with the loss. Marshallton continued their
winnings ways improving their record to 47-30.  They are 9-1 in their last
ten games.  With the loss, Eagle has a record of 6-4 lately, 37-41 overall.
 
GLENMOORE AT KIMBERTON

John Candelaria had an impressive outing and right fielder Reggie Smith had 2
base hits as the Kimberton Firefighters outscored the Glenmoore Stableboys 3-1.
 
Kimberton drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
when they came up with 2 runs on 4 hits.  That scoring would be all that was
needed.  Kimberton had 8 hits for the night while Glenmoore had 3.  
 
The victory was credited to Candelaria(12-1) who went 8 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Candelaria was helped out by Skip Lockwood who recorded his
19th save.  Mickey Lolich(3-5) was hit with the loss.  He surrendered 7 hits
and 3 walks in 6 innings.  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT DEVAULT

Steve Rogers blanked Devault allowing just 3 hits as the Guthriesville
Golddiggers clobbered the outmatched Devault Dynamiters, 11-0.
 
Rogers(5-7) dominated Devault hitters.  He gave up just 3 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings reducing his ERA from 3.72 to 3.43.  Guthriesville managed 10 hits in
their victory.  
 
Joaquin Andujar(2-5) was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 5 runs and 5 hits in
6 and 1/3 innings.
 
LIONVILLE AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Center fielder Rick Monday slammed 2 homeruns and Roger Moret completed the
game without help from the bullpen as the Chester Springs ballclub defeated
the Lionville club 8-3 at Historic Village Park.
 
Chester Springs scored 4 runs in the decisive bottom of the 6th inning with
the help of 5 hits.  The highlight belonged to Dave Rader who made the crowd
happy when he banged out a single bringing home two baserunners.  Chester
Springs banged out 14 hits on the night.  
 
The victory was credited to Moret(2-1) who went the distance, allowing 3 runs.
The loss was charged to Bruce Kison(8-3).  He was unable to control the
Chester Springs offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
