Eric Rasmussen went 7 and one third solid innings and Jose Cruz had 2 base
hits as the Kimberton Firefighters defeated the Devault Dynamiters 2-1 at
Kimberton Fairground.
 
Kimberton wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring a
single run.  Devault made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to
push the needed runs across.  
 
The win went to Rasmussen(6-5) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 1/3 innings. Skip
Lockwood recorded his 9th save.  Jackie Brown(2-5) absorbed the loss.  He
allowed 2 runs and 6 hits in 6 and 2/3 innings.

Rick Monday went deep as the Chester Springs club outscored the Marshallton
Mad Hatters 8-2.
 
Jim Rooker(7-5) gave Chester Springs a solid outing.  He went 7 and 2/3
innings surrendering 7 hits and 2 walks.  Charlie Hough was great in relief
and recorded his 17th save.  
 
Jackson Todd(1-3) was the loser.  He surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk in 5 and
1/3 innings.

Ed Whitson hurled a 3 hitter and left fielder George Foster blasted a homerun
and had 2 RBI at Bentley Stadium as the Eagle Eagles beat the Glenmoore
Stableboys 5-1.
 
In the 5th inning Eagle scored 3 runs.  The highlight belonged to Foster who
helped quiet the crowd when he blasted a two-run home run.  Eagle had a total
of 12 hits for the game.  
 
Whitson(2-0) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Bob
Owchinko(4-6) was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 5
innings.  
 
'When Whitson is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,'
Barry Bentley said. 'He always pitches well against us.'
 
ELVERSON AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Center fielder Cesar Cedeno hit 2 doubles and Steve Rogers tossed a complete
game at Hopewell Field where the Guthriesville Golddiggers beat the Elverson
Squires 7-1.
 
Rogers(8-6) pitched a solid game.  He was reached for 8 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings.  Guthriesville managed 12 hits in their victory.  
 
Ed Halicki(6-7) ended up with the loss.  He was unable to control the
Guthriesville offense and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
 
HONEY BROOK AT LIONVILLE

Second baseman Joe Morgan knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Burt Hooton had
a complete game as the Lionville ballclub topped the Honey Brook Beekeepers
11-4 at Foster Field.
 
The Lionville fans enjoyed the offense provided by Morgan.  He smashed a
solo-shot out of the park in the 2nd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the
5th inning and laced a base-hit in the 7th inning.  Lionville banged out 9
hits on the night.  
 
The winning pitcher was Hooton(4-4) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Bob
Knepper(3-6) was charged with the loss.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 4 hits and 1 walk.
