Tom Seaver carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Historic Village Pk.
where the Chester Springs ballclub beat the Kimberton Firefighters 7-1.
 
Seaver(10-5) put on a good performance.  He allowed only 6 hits and no walks
in 9 innings.  The right-handed Seaver lost a no-hitter when Joel Youngblood
doubled with two outs in the 6th inning.  Chester Springs managed 9 hits in
their victory.  
 
Fred Norman(6-5) was tagged with the loss.  He was knocked around,
surrendering 7 runs in 6 innings.  Seaver was obviously very pleased with his
performance in the aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those games
where everything worked.  My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched
another two or three innings.  I only hope that I can do it again next time
out!'

1,229 fans watched an exciting game at Hickory Park.  The Eagle Eagles topped
the Devault Dynamiters by the slimmest of margins, 3-2.
 
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings.  Eagle came out on top
in the 10th inning.  Omar Moreno tripled.  Pete Rose was next and he ripped a
base-knock giving Eagle the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
Eagle finished with 9 hits in the victory.  
 
Donnie Moore(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Butch Metzger(4-2) absorbed the loss in relief.  He allowed 2 hits
and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.  
 
MARSHALLTON AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Manny Mota had 4 hits and Larry Christenson delivered 8 and two third solid
innings as the Guthriesville Golddiggers beat the Marshallton Mad Hatters 3-0.
 
Guthriesville brought 2 runs across the plate in the 4th inning.
Guthriesville ended up with 8 hits for the game while Marshallton had 2.
 
Christenson(4-8) was the winner allowing no runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Kent
Tekulve recorded his 10th save.  J.R. Richard(9-7) was hit with the loss.

The Honey Brook Beekeepers pitching staff was overwhelmed by the Glenmoore
Stableboys lineup who plated 12 runs while Bill Bonham(9-7) with effective use
of the bullpen allowed Honey Brook 4 runs.
 
Glenmoore claimed the early lead in the first inning when they scored 2 runs
on 2 hits.  Gene Garber was perfect in the ninth giving him his 11th save on
the season.  
 
Bob Knepper(3-8) was charged with the loss.  He surrended 3 homeruns in his 5
and 1/3 innings.
 
LIONVILLE AT ELVERSON

Gene Clines had 5 hits and 2 RBI as the Lionville team outscored the Elverson
Squires in 14 innings 7-6.
 
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings.  Lionville ended up
winning it in the 14th inning.  Chris Speier kicked off the action when he
delivered a one-base hit.  Greg Luzinski stepped up next and he doubled.  Two
outs later Fernando Gonzalez stepped in and he slapped a base-hit, and an
error was also committed.  Joe Morgan followed and he drew a walk.  Ed Ott
dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.  Lionville had 16 hits
overall, while Elverson had 13.  
 
Fred Holdsworth(2-3) went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win.
Holdsworth got help from Don Collins who was credited with his 2nd save.
Mike Garman(6-6) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He pitched 3 innings and
surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk.
