The Kimberton Firefighters batters feasted on the Honey Brook Beekeepers
pitching at Kimberton Fairground.  The final score was a lop-sided 13-4.
 
Eric Rasmussen(8-6) pitched well for Kimberton in their victory.  He went 7
and 2/3 innings surrendering 9 hits and 2 walks and surrendered 2 homeruns.
Kimberton out-hit Honey Brook for the game, 15-10.  
 
Jerry Koosman(8-7) was the loser.  He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 8 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings.

Center fielder Garry Maddox had 3 base hits as the Devault Dynamiters defeated
the Elverson Squires 7-6 at Great Valley Stadium.
 
Bruce Sutter(4-2) was the winning pitcher in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and 1
walk in 2 innings.  Devault banged out 10 hits on the night.  
 
Al Hrabosky(3-3) was charged with the loss in relief.  He gave up no hits and
1 walk in 1/3 of an inning.

George Foster knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Historic Village Park where
the Eagle Eagles beat the Chester Springs club in 10 innings 10-9.
 
The game was deadlocked at 9 after nine full innings.  Eagle ended up winning
it in the 10th inning.  Dave Roberts doubled.  Two outs later Ted Martinez
came to bat and doubled.  Omar Moreno then delivered a one-base hit.  Will
McEnaney then picked Moreno off first base.  Although they lost, Chester
Springs did out-hit Eagle 15-12.  
 
The victory was credited to Dick Ruthven(4-6) who went 2 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Bill Atkinson earned his 15th save.  McEnaney(0-1) suffered
the loss in relief.

Doug Flynn had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Marshallton Mad Hatters beat the
Glenmoore Stableboys 10-8.
 
Eddie Solomon(4-5) was the winning pitcher with a solid relief performance.
He didn't give up much, just 1 hit and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.  The
game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 6 times.  
 
Solomon got relief help from Rollie Fingers who gained credit for his 13th
save.  The losing pitcher was John Urrea(10-4) in relief.  He was not very
effective, surrendering 5 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT LIONVILLE, 1st

Catcher Ted Simmons smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Foster Field as the
Lionville team belted the Guthriesville Golddiggers by the count of 14-4.
 
Simmons had a big evening at the plate.  He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in
the 1st inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the
5th inning.  Lionville kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning which saw
them score 4 runs on 4 hits.  Lionville dominated offensively as they scored
in 6 different innings.  
 
Randy Jones(7-5) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. The loss
was charged to Jim Kaat(5-5).  He surrendered 6 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings and
saw his ERA increase from 4.54 to 5.12.  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT LIONVILLE, 2nd

In a close game it was the Guthriesville Golddiggers 5, the Lionville team 3
at Foster Field.
 
Buzz Capra(3-6) had a fairly solid outing.  He surrendered 4 hits and 4 walks
in 5 innings.  For the game Guthriesville out-hit Lionville 10-4.  
 
Capra was helped out by Clay Carroll who recorded his 2nd save.  Steve
Carlton(10-8) was tagged with the loss.  He gave up 4 runs in 3 and 1/3
innings of work.  
 
'I struggled a bit out there tonight,' Capra said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
