Willie McCovey touched them all and had 2 RBI at Kimberton Fairground as the
incredible Chester Springs club pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the
Kimberton Firefighters 8-4.
 
Chester Springs had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning when
they came up with 5 runs on 4 hits.  The key at-bat was by Jose Cardenal who
silenced the crowd when he tripled scoring two baserunners.  Chester Springs
out-hit Kimberton for the game, 12-8.  
 
The victory was credited to Bo McLaughlin(7-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Skip Lockwood(3-4) took the loss in relief.  After the
game, it took a long while before Rich Pawlak emerged from his office.  In a
subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions.  He concluded with,
'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood tonight, as I think you'll
understand.  I'm sure you'll find the banter a lot more light-hearted over in
the Chester Springs locker room.'

Bruce Boisclair had 2 base hits and Rick Reuschel retired 11 batters on
strikeouts at Great Valley Stadium where the Eagle Eagles beat the Devault
Dynamiters 3-2.
 
Reuschel(6-2) was solid in the win.  He allowed only 5 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings.  Eagle finished with 7 hits in the victory.  
 
Reuschel was helped out by Bill Atkinson who recorded his 13th save.  Rick
Sawyer(2-5) was hit with the loss.  Reuschel was humble when questioned about
his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight.  But,
I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called.  That was an
extremely well called game!'

In a tight game it was the Honey Brook Beekeepers 3, the Guthriesville
Golddiggers 1 in 10 innings at The Nest.
 
The score was tied at 1 after nine.  Honey Brook won the hard fought contest
in the 10th inning.  Cesar Geronimo led off and keyed the rally when he
slapped a one-base hit.  Cliff Johnson was next to bat, but he was a
strikeout victim.  Dusty Baker then cracked a two-run shot giving Honey Brook
the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.  Guthriesville had 11
hits in the game while Honey Brook had 6, but Honey Brook had the more timely
hits.  
 
The win was credited to Dave Campbell(4-3) who went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing
no runs. Kent Tekulve(2-8) was given the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 hits
and 1 walk in 2/3 of an inning.  
 
GLENMOORE AT ELVERSON

At French Creek Park the Elverson Squires outdistanced the Glenmoore
Stableboys 12-8.
 
Al Hrabosky(2-2) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory.  He
surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk in 2 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 2
'round-trippers'.  Overall Elverson out-hit Glenmoore 18-11.  
 
Mike Garman earned the save, his 12th.  Pedro Borbon(0-2) suffered the loss in
relief.
 
LIONVILLE AT MARSHALLTON

J.R. Richard tossed a complete game as the Marshallton Mad Hatters outscored
the Lionville ballclub 5-1.
 
Marshallton had 3 runs cross the plate in the 6th inning with the help of 3
hits.  It was enough to earn the victory.  Marshallton totaled 7 hits on the
night.  
 
The victory was credited to Richard(8-6) who went the distance, allowing 1
run. Steve Carlton(10-6) was charged with the loss.
