Tom Seaver was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game as the Chester Springs team bested the Devault Dynamiters 4-1 at
Great Valley Stadium.
 
Chester Springs took the lead for keeps in the 4th inning scoring a single run
using 2 hits.  Chester Springs had a total of 7 hits for the game.
 
Seaver(7-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Jon
Matlack(8-4) was the loser.  He surrendered 3 runs and 5 hits in 6 and 1/3
innings.

Jay Johnstone collected 2 extra-base hits as the Honey Brook Beekeepers
outscored the Glenmoore Stableboys 9-2.
 
Honey Brook went ahead for good in the 4th inning scoring one runner.  Honey
Brook rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.  
 
The victory went to Ray Burris(6-6) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Floyd Bannister(3-8) ended up with the loss.  Honey Brook knocked him
around a bit, as he gave up 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.  
 
KIMBERTON AT EAGLE, 1st

In a close game it was the Eagle Eagles 4, the Kimberton Firefighters 2 in 11
innings at Hickory Park.
 
The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Finally, Eagle pulled the game out in the
11th inning.  After two outs Bruce Boisclair jump-started the rally as he
slapped a base-hit.  George Foster stepped up next and he cleared the fences
for a two-run home run giving Eagle the victory and sending the 651 home-town
fans home happy.  Despite losing, Kimberton out-hit Eagle 9-6.  
 
Ed Whitson(1-0) allowed no runs in 4 innings, and picked up the victory. Dan
Larson(1-3) was charged with the loss in relief.  
 
KIMBERTON AT EAGLE, 2nd

Right fielder Reggie Smith touched them all and had 4 RBI as the Kimberton
Firefighters beat the Eagle Eagles 7-2.
 
Smith had a good day at the plate.  He lofted a three-run bomb in the 5th
inning and doubled plating a run in the 9th inning.  Kimberton banged out 12
hits on the afternoon.  
 
Jim Lonborg(4-5) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Lonborg got help from Dan Larson who was credited with his 1st save.  The
loss was charged to Gene Pentz(5-5).  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT MARSHALLTON

The Marshallton Mad Hatters offense put up 5 runs on the scoreboard in the 5th
inning and defeated the Guthriesville Golddiggers 6-2 at Four Dogs Field.
 
Guthriesville never recovered after Marshallton took the lead in the 4th
inning plating one baserunner.  Marshallton totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.
 
The winning pitcher was Rawly Eastwick(3-3) who allowed 2 runs in 3 and 2/3
innings. The losing pitcher was Steve Rogers(7-6).  He was unable to control
the Marshallton offense and allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
 
ELVERSON AT LIONVILLE

Ted Simmons had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Foster Field as the Lionville
ballclub beat the Elverson Squires 9-2.
 
Elverson found themselves trailing quickly as the Lionville bats came through
in the first inning scoring 5 runners on 5 hits.  That early scoring held up.
Elverson was out-hit by Lionville, 12-8.  
 
Randy Jones(5-5) was the winner allowing 1 run in 6 and 2/3 innings. Jim
Barr(4-8) took the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 5 hits in 1 inning.
