In a good matchup it was the smoking-hot Eagle Eagles 6, the Glenmoore
Stableboys 4 at Bentley Stadium.
 
Eagle brought 3 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning with the help of 3
hits.  They would be enough to earn the win.  Eagle had 12 hits for the
afternoon while Glenmoore had 6.  
 
The win went to Don Stanhouse(5-3) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Randy Moffitt recorded the save, his 31st.  Mickey Lolich(8-9) took the loss.
He was touched for 10 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.  
 
Eagle won for the 7th straight time.
 
ELVERSON AT KIMBERTON

Bob Watson hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI at Kimberton Fairground as the
Kimberton Firefighters beat the Elverson Squires 7-6.
 
Wayne Twitchell(1-1) was dominant in relief.  He was flawless in relief in his
2 innings.  A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.  
 
Al Hrabosky(7-4) was charged with the loss in relief.  He gave up 3 hits and 2
walks in 1 inning.
 
HONEY BROOK AT DEVAULT

Ted Kubiak had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Devault Dynamiters outscored the
ice-cold Honey Brook Beekeepers 5-2.
 
Tom Griffin(3-5) earned the victory with a fine relief performance.  He
surrendered only 1 hit and 2 walks in 5 innings and recorded 6 strikeouts
lowering his ERA to 4.90.  Devault had 8 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Bruce Sutter got the save, his 28th.  Dave Freisleben(4-11) suffered the loss.
He surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 2/3 innings.
 
MARSHALLTON AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Jim Rooker pitched a 3 hitter as the Chester Springs team topped the
Marshallton Mad Hatters 6-1 at Historic Village Park.
 
Marshallton surrendered all of the runs Chester Springs needed in the 1st
inning when they scored 6 runs on 7 hits.  That was all the offense they were
to need.  Chester Springs had a total of 11 hits for the game.  
 
The win went to Rooker(7-9) who allowed 1 run in the game. Tom Underwood(8-4)
was tagged with the loss.  He gave up 6 runs and 6 hits in 2/3 of an inning.
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT LIONVILLE

In a close game the powerful Lionville ballclub got by the Guthriesville
Golddiggers 3-1.
 
Lionville scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning scoring 2
runs using 4 hits.  Greg Luzinski led off and started the rally when he
slapped a base-hit.  One out later, Jim Wynn followed, but he was set down on
strikes.  Ken Reitz then stroked a one-base hit.  Chris Speier followed next
and he doubled.  Ed Kranepool came up to bat and stroked a single.  The teams
had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
Randy Jones(22-7) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Jones was helped out by Ron Reed who recorded his 16th save.
Alan Foster(1-5) was hit with the loss in relief.
