8/29/76: Lionville Tops Guthriesville, 3-1

It took us until the 8th but we finally got some clutch hitting, with Reitz, Speier, and Kranepool delivering, all with 2 outs, enabling Randy to come away with his 22nd. He pitched very well, but he needed Reed to save it. All it took Reed was 3 pitches to get Cabell to ground into a game-ending double play. Great execution on that by Reitz and Morgan. I thought it was going to find its way through, but somehow Kenny snagged it. Odd how Gary Scott took out Kaat in the 6th as soon as Morales got our first hit. I was glad to see Kaat go. I'll bet that's the best he's pitched his entire miserable season. Our lead is up to 17½ now as - finally - the Hatters seem to be fading. And they lost Ivie and Templeton today, the latter for the year.
