In a one-sided affair at Bentley Stadium the final score was the Eagle Eagles
7, the Glenmoore Stableboys 2.
 
Eagle started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring 2 runners on 3 hits.  Eagle had 15 hits overall, while
Glenmoore had 9.  
 
Rick Reuschel(15-10) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Reuschel got relief help from Randy Moffitt who gained credit for his 30th
save.  Frank Lacorte(5-8) ended up with the loss.  He allowed 9 hits and 4
walks in 5 innings.

540 fans were treated to a fine game at Kimberton Fairground as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The seemingly unstoppable Kimberton
Firefighters won by the slimmest of margins, 4-3.
 
The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Kimberton won the hard fought contest in
the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Pepe Mangual smacked a single.
Mangual was safe at second on a stolen base.  Jose Cruz then laced a single
giving Kimberton the victory as 540 happy fans celebrated wildly.  For the
game Kimberton out-hit Elverson 10-7.  
 
Mike Wallace(3-2) went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Ed
Halicki(8-11) was hit with the loss.  He gave up 9 hits and 3 walks in 9 and
1/3 innings.
 
HONEY BROOK AT DEVAULT

Right fielder Dave Kingman cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Great Valley
Stadium as the Devault Dynamiters beat the ice-cold Honey Brook Beekeepers 
12-11.
 
Kingman helped send the fans home happy.  He lofted a three-run bomb in the
3rd inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 5th inning.
Honey Brook tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  
 
Tommy John(9-10) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. John got
help from Bruce Sutter who earned his 27th save.  Doc Medich(4-9) was the
loser.  He served up 3 gopher balls in 4 innings.  
 
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' John said.
 
MARSHALLTON AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Tom Seaver had an impressive outing and left fielder Dave May connected with a
'big fly' and had 3 RBI as the Chester Springs team bested the Marshallton
Mad Hatters 8-2 at Historic Village Park.
 
Chester Springs took the lead off Steve Renko in the first inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 5 hits.  That early scoring held up.  Chester Springs
rapped out 15 hits for the night.  
 
The win went to Seaver(13-6) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Renko(9-8) was
the losing pitcher.  Chester Springs scored big getting 7 runs off him in 6
and 2/3 innings.  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT LIONVILLE

Second baseman Joe Morgan launched 2 homeruns at Foster Field as the
spectacular Lionville ballclub beat the reeling Guthriesville Golddiggers 
6-4.
 
Morgan had a big evening at the plate.  He smashed a solo-shot out of the park
in the 2nd inning, stroked a base-hit in the 4th inning and hit a bases-empty
home run in the 6th inning.  Guthriesville made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.  
 
The win went to Burt Hooton(15-5) who allowed 3 runs in 8 innings. Joe Sambito
recorded the save, his 5th.  Larry Christenson(3-13) absorbed the loss.  He
was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Gary Scott 'But we have
to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
