Felix Millan had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Dick Ruthven whitewashed
Marshallton as the Eagle Eagles defeated the Marshallton Mad Hatters 8-0 at 
Hickory Park.
 
Ruthven(10-9) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He allowed just 8 hits
and 4 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.48.  Eagle rapped out 9 hits
for the afternoon.  
 
Gary Nolan(10-8) absorbed the loss.  He allowed 8 runs and 9 hits in 8
innings.
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT KIMBERTON

In a close game it was the Guthriesville Golddiggers 5, the Kimberton
Firefighters 3 in 10 innings at Kimberton Fairground.
 
The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Guthriesville was victorious in the 10th
inning.  After two outs Von Joshua started the rally when he drew a walk.
Enos Cabell followed next and he doubled.  Don Kessinger then ripped a
one-base hit.  Guthriesville had 13 hits overall, while Kimberton had 8.
 
Bob Apodaca(7-4) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Wayne Twitchell(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3
innings giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.
 
GLENMOORE AT CHESTER SPRINGS

John Montefusco allowed Barry Bentley to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and shortstop Dave Concepcion cracked a homer at Historic Village Park as
the Glenmoore Stableboys beat the Chester Springs club 7-4.
 
In the top of the 7th inning Glenmoore scored 3 runs when they came up with 4
base hits.  The biggest moment was provided by Willie Montanez who silenced
the crowd when he doubled plating two runs.  Glenmoore totaled 12 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
The winning pitcher was Montefusco(13-8) who allowed 4 runs for the game.
Jerry Reuss(9-8) was the loser.  He was unable to control the Glenmoore
offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.

In a good matchup it was the Elverson Squires 5, the Honey Brook Beekeepers 2
at French Creek Park.
 
Honey Brook found themselves trailing quickly as the Elverson bats came
through in the first inning plating one baserunner.  After two were out Mike
Schmidt clubbed a solo home run.  Steve Garvey came next and he drew a walk.
Honey Brook was set down quietly in the 9th.  
 
Jim Barr(10-13) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Barr got help from
Al Hrabosky who was credited with his 12th save.  The losing pitcher was Dave
Freisleben(4-9).  He surrendered 5 runs and 9 hits in 8 innings.

At Great Valley Stadium, the Devault faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel.  Randy Jones(21-6) finally bested his Devault counterpart,
Tommy John(8-10), 2-1.
 
Devault was unable to claim the lead after Lionville went ahead in the top of
the 4th inning scoring a single run.  Lionville banged out 8 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Ron Reed recorded his 14th save.  The loss was charged to John.
