8/21/76: Lionville Edges Devault, 2-1

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:

Super sweet to have Reed come on with the tying run on 2nd and 2 down in the bottom of the 9th and punch out pinch-hitter Larry Parrish on 3 pitches. This came right after pinch-hitter extraordinaire Bob Bailey very nearly spoiled Randy's nice outing with a double to the base of the wall. A Bull blast put us up in the 4th but as it turned out the run Kenny Reitz drove in in the 9th was the difference-maker. The crowd and the Devault dugout looked at me like they thought I was crazy when I had Randy walk that Clarey guy with 2 out and nobody on in the 8th - but I knew what I was doing. Randy struck out Kingman to make me look like a genius. But that 3rd strike Randy threw was pretty juicy, and we were lucky Kong's bat passed just underneath the ball.
