We sweep Barney's crew and beat a top-flight pitcher in Matlack with a really fine start by Burt Hooton. He only gave up 3 hits, punched out 7, and didn't walk anyone. He's been in a groove lately. Kingman's butchering of Simba's base hit in the 1st helped us get an early lead. Thanks, Kong! Kenny Reitz with 4 hits continues to swing a hot bat. He's got his average up to .282; that's up about 60 points in the last 2 months. He's been clutch for us. 2 of our runs today scored on balks. I don't know if I've seen that happen in a game before. On to Glenmoore next for 4 night games. I'll bet they haven't forgotten about that 23‑1 pasting we gave them the last time we played them just before the All-Star break.
