The Chester Springs (11-11) ballclub edged the Eagle Eagles (10-12) at
Hickory Park by the score of 4-3.
 
In the top of the 6th inning Chester Springs scored 2 runs.  Charlie Hough
pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 4th save.  The victory went to Tom
Seaver(2-1) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. Don Stanhouse(0-2)
was charged with the loss.  He surrendered 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3
innings.  
 
 
HONEY BROOK AT LIONVILLE

Randy Jones didn't allow a hit until the 7th inning as the Lionville (15-6)
club beat the Honey Brook Beekeepers (12-9) by a score of 6-0.
 
Jones(6-0) simply dominated Honey Brook.  He surrendered only 1 hit and no
walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 2.93 to 2.42.  The left-handed
Jones had his no-hit bid broken up by Dave Cash who singled with one out in
the 7th inning.  Lionville banged out 7 hits on the night.  
 
Pete Falcone(3-2) ended up with the loss.  His biggest problem was control as
he allowed 10 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.  'All of my pitches were working
tonight,' Jones said.  'I felt really good out there, and heck, I think I
could have gone longer.'
