Willie Crawford had 3 base hits and 3 RBI and Mickey Lolich hurled a 2 hitter
as the Glenmoore Stableboys defeated the Eagle Eagles 8-2 at Hickory Park.
 
Lolich(3-3) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Eagle offense. He
didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA
from 2.74 to 2.45.  Glenmoore banged out 11 hits on the night.  
 
Rick Reuschel(5-6) was tagged with the loss.  'Lolich just dominated us'
losing pitcher Reuschel said.  'Hopefully we can get to him the next time
around'

Manny Trillo had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Kimberton Firefighters topped
the Elverson Squires by a score of 5-2 at Kimberton Fairground.
 
Mike Wallace(1-0) got the win with a steady relief outing.  He was reached for
2 hits and 1 walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.  Kimberton had a total of 9 hits for
the game.  
 
Skip Lockwood earned the save, his 12th.  John Denny(2-6) took the loss.  He
pitched 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 walks.
 
HONEY BROOK AT DEVAULT

Gary Matthews had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Pete Falcone went the distance as
the Honey Brook Beekeepers bested the Devault Dynamiters 8 to 3 at Great
Valley Stadium.
 
Honey Brook scored 6 runs in the top of the 2nd inning when they came up with
6 base hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Falcone(5-6) and
Honey Brook.  That was all the run support Falcone required.  Honey Brook had
15 hits for the night.  
 
The loss was charged to Woodie Fryman(3-5).  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings
giving up 6 hits and 1 walk.
 
MARSHALLTON AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Tom Seaver had a complete game as the Chester Springs ballclub defeated the
Marshallton Mad Hatters by the score of 5-1 at Historic Village Park.
 
Chester Springs went ahead for good in the 3rd inning as they scored 2 runs on
1 base hits.  That was all Seaver(7-2) needed.  Chester Springs totaled 7
hits on the night.  
 
J.R. Richard(4-4) ended up with the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 6 hits in 7
and 1/3 innings.
 
LIONVILLE AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Joe Torre had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the incredible Lionville club defeated
the lifeless Guthriesville Golddiggers by a score of 8-5 at Hopewell Field.
 
Lionville jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating an isolated
run utilizing 3 base hits.  For the game Lionville out-hit Guthriesville 18
to 9.  
 
The win went to Steve Carlton(6-2) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Ron Reed recorded the save, his 4th.  Jim Kaat(2-7) was given the loss.  He
was unable to control the Lionville offense and allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in
3 and 1/3 innings.
