Rick Reuschel pitched a complete game and third baseman Pete Rose had 3 base
hits at Hickory Park as the Eagle Eagles beat the Devault Dynamiters by the
count of 4-2.
Eagle promptly took the lead in their half of the first as they scored 2 runs
on 2 base hits. The Devault offense proved no trouble in the 9th.
Reuschel(5-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. The loss
was charged to Woodie Fryman(3-4). He was knocked around by Eagle, allowing
10 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

In a game at Bentley Stadium the Honey Brook Beekeepers got by the Glenmoore
Stableboys by the score of 8-5.
Honey Brook scored 6 runs in the decisive top of the 6th inning when they came
up with 3 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Junior Moore who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he doubled bringing home two
baserunners. Honey Brook banged out 12 hits on the night.
Pete Falcone(4-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing
4 runs. Frank Lacorte(2-3) suffered the loss in relief. He allowed 3 runs
and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

In an exciting finish the Chester Springs team pulled out a win over the
Kimberton Firefighters by a score of 2-1 at Historic Village Park.
The deciding run was scored by Chester Springs in the bottom of the 9th. Gary
Thomasson doubled. Hector Cruz came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice
bunt. Bob Boone got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Rennie
Stennett followed and he was walked intentionally. Lee Lacy came up to bat
and stroked a base-hit making Chester Springs the victor and beginning a
joyous home town celebration. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel
until the 7th inning.
Charlie Hough(3-4) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jim Lonborg(4-5)
absorbed the loss. He pitched 8 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 3
walks.
With this win, Chester Springs has a 26-26 record. They have been 4-6 lately.
With the loss, the Kimberton ballclub's record is 27-25.
MARSHALLTON AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Left fielder Bill Buckner had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Marshallton Mad
Hatters bested the ice-cold Guthriesville Golddiggers 4-3 at Hopewell Field.
Marshallton took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning plating one baserunner
utilizing 3 base hits. Guthriesville threatened in the 9th but their rally
came up short.
Tom Underwood(5-0) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Underwood got help from Rawly Eastwick who was credited with his 10th save.
Jim Kaat(2-6) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing
7 hits and no walks.
ELVERSON AT LIONVILLE

Joe Morgan connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI at Foster Field where the
Lionville ballclub beat the Elverson Squires by the score of 6-4.
Chuck Taylor(1-0) was the winning pitcher in relief. He went 2 innings
surrendering 3 hits and no walks dropping his ERA from 3.07 to 2.70. Overall
Lionville out-hit Elverson 12 to 8.
Al Downing earned the save, his 1st. Mike Garman(0-3) ended up with the loss.
He surrendered 5 runs and 6 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
